Team Teach training in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Birmingham and South Wales (Neath/Port Talbot and
Rhondda-Cynon-Taff)

Team Teach is a ICM accredited training package for training children and adult services in managing positive behaviour including positive handling strategies through a whole setting holistic approach. (ICM – The Institute of Conflict Management)

Tony Ryall is a Principal Trainer for Team Teach and leads courses all over the UK and has been commissioned to work in Kenya, Malta, Northern Ireland, and most recently The Falkland Islands.

Course Options

Foundation Course (Low risk settings)
A 6 hour (1 day) training course

Basic Course (Medium risk settings)
A 12 hour (2 day) training course for staff working with clients who are exhibiting challenging behaviours and need positive handling to keep everyone safe, including Transport Drivers and Escorts.
(PRUs, Special Schools and Residential Care settings)

Advance Modules (High risk individuals)
Evidence of high risk clients who may use an everyday object as a weapon to injury self or others, throwing chairs, using sticks/cues to hurt others etc. Transporting high risk indivdiuals.
Holding someone safely in a recovery position on the Ground.

All Team Teach techniques have undergone a thorough legal, medical and tactical risk assessment review, carried out be three independent, medical experts.

Following the course I will provide you with:

• A list of staff who have attended
• A course training record
• A summary evaluation with reference staff achievements
• Handouts of Positive Handling Plans, Risk Assessments Proformas, currents Legal and National Guidance
• Access to the Team Teach website
• Staff access to completing a trainers course for an in-house tutor

Evidence based training.
A research study by Portsmouth University found that over 80% of all course participants rated the Lead Trainers knowledge, attention to safety, approach, organisation. Preparation and Encouragement of individuals as “excellent”

Course information
Course costs are available on application. For any course you will need to provide a suitable training venue, refreshments and lunch arrangements.
